Who We Are


The Research Innovation Commercialization Centre, or RIC Centre is a registered not-for-profit organization that provides commercialization support to new entrepreneurs and seasoned business people to take the next great idea to market in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, life sciences and emerging technologies sectors.
 
The RIC Centre provides important services to start-ups and SMEs such as market research, mentoring and coaching and strategic planning. We also provide entrepreneurial training with our monthly Growing Your Businesssessions and connections to investors, through our relationship with Maple leaf Angels.
 
Working closely with our community partners such as University of Toronto Mississauga and MaRS Discovery District (for complete list, click HERE), RIC is able to provide connections to government, industry and academia to help its clients cultivate strategic alliances.
 
In just two short years, RIC has worked with over a 150 companies to become the third largest innovation centre in the province. Further, 46% of all successful clients at RIC have either received funding or been introduced to funding sources and investors. Our Strategic Objective


 To be the central focal point for Peel Region companies to access the Ontario Network of Excellence to accelerate the commercialization of innovative products and services. To be a connecting hub for Ontario Centres of Excellence, MaRs, industry and academia, to support entrepreneurs on their path to market. The ultimate goal is to create companies that employ people which support the prosperity of the local community and Ontario.
